Saturday May 1 and Sunday May 2, 2027, 11 AM – 5 PM, along Smith Avenue from Tian-Jin Temple (3426 Smith Ave, Burnaby) to Avondale Park.
“TJ” stands for Tian-Jin, the name of our temple. The festival is organized and run by Tian-Jin Temple volunteers.
The Mandarin name of TJ Fest is 廟會, “temple festival”. In Taiwan these began as celebrations honouring deities at Taoist temples and grew into community street fairs with food stalls, crafts, drumming and dance. TJ Fest brings that atmosphere to Burnaby.
Smith Avenue is closed to vehicles from Canada Way to Avondale Park and parking nearby is very limited. We recommend transit, walking or cycling — see the getting-there guide.
Come at 11 AM for the shortest food lines and the full menu — popular items can sell out. Have one person queue while the rest of your group waits nearby.
